ANF created a design that enlivens and expedites the work of the University's entire School of Arts which had been partially located in Kenrick Hall, the 1939 campus cafeteria, classroom, and high school building. The new building is designed to meet CBU's current needs, particularly in the areas of technology, flexibility, mulit-department learning & collaboration, and sustainable design.
The building is supported by steel columns, beams, and big seismic buckling-restrained braces. The formal brick & stone exterior that faces Parkway transforms to a glass wall on the campus-facing east side.
Green design includes high energy efficiency, water conservation, and use of sustainable materials.
Paving of exterior pedestrian areas has begun with seats, lighting and landscaping to soon follow. This Fall will bring furniture, wireless, USB connections, audio/visual, wall finishes, colors, more flooring, controls, fixtures, accessories, equipment, and much more.
