2018 A Year in Review

A YEAR OF GROWTH, GREAT DESIGN, COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, AND OPPORTUNITY

PROJECTS: 2018 has been a great year for "building community" in Memphis, Tennessee. As architects and interior designers, we had the privilege to design projects for a number of clients on a wide-range of projects. Most recently, we completed Crosstown High School, The Pink Palace Mansion, The Village at Germantown Senior Living Expansion, and The Collegiate Hotel at Auburn... just to name a few.

GROWTH: We also completed a renovation to our own design studios increasing natural daylighting, improving energy efficiency, and providing additional collaborative work spaces in each studio. We have invested in technological upgrades that have further enhanced our design capabilities as well as our collaboration process. We played a game of musical chairs during construction, but with Jim Wilkins coordinating the move and keeping all of the important wires and cables connected, we worked through the transition without missing a beat!
We added two new employees, Abby Holliday & Christopher Stone.

COMMUNITY: We hosted seven art shows and four fundraisers in our gallery, as well as countless lunch & learns. We had fun office outings, in-house parties, and general merriment all year long. Our 2018 Holiday Toy Drive for The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis was a huge success!
We sponsored the RiverArtsFest with many of our staff serving on the steering committee and/or board of directors, helping to coordinate the move to the new Riverside Drive location and Mighty Lights celebration.

CELEBRATIONS: We celebrated three major "workiversaries:" Linda Smith (operations manager & associate) celebrated 35 years at ANF, Bob Land (architect & associate) celebrated 25 years, and Eli Cloud (business development manager) celebrated 5 years (and an extra week of vacation).  We had two weddings (Taylor Bond Williams & Emma Kate Morse Lynn) and one engagement (Brian Martinelli).

RECOGNITION: ANF Architects was awarded First Place in the 2018 Vision Design Award for Education, a national award. Rebecca & Amanda presented Crosstown High at the AIA Third Thursday. Leigh Barker was awarded the IIDA person of the year and was published in Floor Focus Magazine for the design of Crosstown High. Memphis Magazine published an article about Louis R. Pounders's home.

ANF Architects is truly a great place to work! We are looking forward to an inspired and productive 2019!
