It's that time of year when our office begins to buzz with excitement as the planning for the RiverArtsFestival kicks into high gear.
The RiverArtsFest is near and dear to our hearts. Our firm's founder, Lee Askew, is one of the festival directors and several of our employees serve on the steering committee and volunteer during the festival.
A great fall kick-off for the festival, the RiverArtsFest Invitational Exhibit is
only a few weeks away. This Invitational
Art Exhibit, held each year during October in the gallery at ANF Architects, features original fine art from our Festival Poster artist as well
as work from invited area fine artists
who exemplify the spirit of the festival.
The RiverArtsFest Invitational Exhibit Opening Night Reception will be held on Friday, October 10th from 5:30 to 8:80 pm.
year’s artists are: Danny Broadway; Lea Holland; Chuck Johnson (poster artist); Bill Price;
Jeanne Seagle; Steve Winn.
from the sale of art and posters at the invitational exhibit will benefit the
RiverArtsFest--a 501C3 non-profit festival whose mission is to promote the arts
in our community and to provide opportunities for fine art instruction by
local, professional artists to students in public schools.
year’s RiverArtsFest poster (right) will be available for purchase during the reception.
THE FESTIVAL: Each
year in October, RiverArtsFest hosts nationally renowned artisans and thousands of Mid-Southerners
to celebrate the fine arts during a two-day outdoor festival that is open to
the public in the historic South Main District in downtown Memphis.
the Friday before the festival, we have a soft opening in conjunction with the
South Main Trolley Night and the RiverArtsFest Preview Party from 6-9pm.
Tickets to the preview party are $30 and
many of our festival artists will be open for business.
The regular festival hours are:
25, 10A – 6P
Sunday, Oct. 26, 10A – 5P
The RiverArtsFest could not happen without the support of our volunteers, sponsors and donors. This can be an exciting opportunity for you to get involved! Learn
