Like our clients' projects, we designed our office as both a functional workspace and congenial work environment. In 1987 we had our first office art show exhibiting the work of Connie Hendrix. It was such a success that we now have several art shows per year, having designed our office space around a central gallery for this purpose. We see a close link between art and architecture, and we feel it is important to support and promote the arts. Like a retail gallery, all the work in our art shows is for sale, but unlike a retail gallery, we take no commissions. In this way, it is truly a service to the artist and the public.
Since our founding in 1975, our Midtown offices have become a forum for community activity and are used for a wide variety of civic, social, and business gatherings. We encourage this by regularly hosting exhibitions featuring the work of local artists as well as our biannual Rhythm and Blues parties. Through the decades, we have seen a demand in the community for event venues for civic groups. In response we have made a strong commitment to give back to the community by providing a well designed setting for the benefit of our clients, our community, and our firm. Good architecture is good for business and for society. Below is the list of charities that have benefited from our commitment:
St. Jude Children's Hospital (ALSAC) Memphis Humane Society Memphis Arts Council American Lung Assoc. of TN St. Peter Manor The Phoenix Club Associated Catholic Charities International Children's Hearth Foundation Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis PALS - Porter Leath Children's Center Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-South Senior Services The Shepherd's School
