The phenomenal growth of FedEx has been a modern American success story. At the time of this project, the nightly package volume outweighed the existing resources of the sort facility.
FedEx needed fast, aggressive expansion which not only would solve current needs, but also provide for future expansion. They also wanted to reduce energy costs by providing natural light and efficient ventilation.
To fulfill FedEx’s needs for a watertight, naturally-lit building, Askew Nixon Ferguson designed clerestory windows with translucent panels and ventilation fans.
To ensure the project stayed ahead of schedule, this facility was fast-tracked using multiple bid packages. ANFA brought the 310,000 square foot project to completion in just under 18 months.
