This two-story 60,000 square foot skilled nursing facility will have 67 private rooms and focus on those people who have had surgery, falls, strokes or other events like knee-replacements, that cause them to need training and therapy. The facility will focus on adults 65 and older and offer physical, occupational and speech therapy and skilled nursing services. A 4,000 square foot therapy department will have tread mills and weight machines. The occupational therapy area will include a kitchen and laundry facility so people can be reintroduced to doing daily chores. The facility may also include an automobile to help retrain people how to get in and out of vehicles and use a seat belt. The THM West Tennessee Transitional Care facility has completed steel erection and marked the occasion with a beam signing ceremony. The contractor is now enclosing the building's exterior walls and has started working on the mechanical and electrical systems. Construction is anticipated to be complete in January 2013.
