The building also serves as a conference center, an education center, an indoor climbing wall facility, and a theater. Two massive fireplaces with carved mantles, located at either end of the dining area, reinforce the connection between nature and the man made environment. Using local stone, timber trusses, metal roof and wood decks, this dining hall fits well into this Boy Scout camp, in color, texture and materials. The project includes a 3,500 SF commercial kitchen and food preparation area. The dining hall is part of a revitalization of camp Kia Kima. In addition to the dining hall, new toilet/shower houses, signage, parking areas and pavilions were provided.

“Our new Dining Hall provides a significant improvement in our ability to efficiently prepare and serve food for our campers and staff in one seating in air conditioned comfort.  Its spacious hall, stages, meeting room, climbing wall and audio/visual system allow us the flexibility offer a wide variety of training  and education presentations  while providing an alternate location for regular camp programs during inclement weather.”
