The University of Memphis Community Health Building

The new facility supports over a thousand students and 70 faculty in the nursing school & a hundred students and 25 faculty in the communication sciences and disorders center. It provides 24 research labs, 6 simulation labs, 4 skills labs, 2 health assessment labs, a dozen classrooms, and over 100 offices.
This new state-of-the-art clinical facility has allowed the university to expand their healthcare services offered to the public, increase educational opportunities for students, and provides a location to combine into one place classrooms and clinics that were previously spread across nine buildings in several parts of town for U of M Nursing Students.
The new MSHC has space for pediatric & adult group therapy, single therapy or diagnostic rooms, as well as several new audiology testing suites. An anechoic chamber, the only one of its kind in West Tennessee, will further valuable research on hearing devices and hearing problems.
This project met all schedule & budget goals and did not require value engineering.
