Greystar - Cornell University Student Housing

Upscale collegiate housing developer Greystar constructed a Maplewood Apartment community in Ithaca, NY to provide off-campus housing for graduate, faculty, and professional students of Cornell University. ANF worked with EdR to design the apartment lobby spaces, corridors, study rooms, and the community center. The color palette for the “Rustic Contemporary” style was inspired by the picturesque autumn landscapes of upstate New York. Warm, rich colors, reclaimed wood paneling, and cozy furniture create a respite for residents from the chilly northeast winters. At apartment buildings, each of the four floors features an identifying accent color and an associated season of the year. In keeping with this theme, study room walls have floor to ceiling digital prints of “foot selfies” with the corresponding season of the floor in the background. The community center includes a spacious double height living/dining room with plenty of comfortable seating and a roaring fireplace.
