ANF designed the new 4,200 SF Field Maintenance Shop at the Memphis Armory to meet the Army’s needs for additional vehicle and equipment service. Working closely with the Tennessee Army National Guard, ANF designed a facility that coordinated complex exhaust and controls with a state-of-the-art 15-ton bridge crane, which allows for increased efficiency and productivity. The project is comprised of the Maintenance Bay with high ceilings, bridge crane, and abundant natural light through translucent fiberglass wall panels, as well as offices, storage, and an accessible restroom with lockers. Sitework included grading and concrete work, site utilities including water, fire protection, sewer, grease interceptor, and a new gas service. To make room for the new project, ANF coordinated the demolition of an existing metal storage building as well as part of its slab. All work was completed within the allotted contingency, which allowed the Owner to upgrade to thicker, more energy-efficient fiberglass panels, saving the State operating costs for years to come.
