Merck INNOVATION HUB

ANF was asked to create a highly collaborative, energetic space for multi-disciplinary team work at Merck Consumer Care. The goal of the space is to foster innovative thinking. The existing space was completely demolished and replaced by an open concept with an industrial aesthetic. ANF exposed the building columns and left the ceiling open to give the space an industrial feel. The Client asked for an open work space for two teams (referred to as ‘hubs’), breakout spaces and areas for smaller private meetings. Shortly after beginning construction the client asked us to incorporate stairs to the second floor to provide a connection to future hubs. Elements were added that encourage innovative thought such as glass walls for users to draw on during brainstorming sessions. The end result is the functional, playful space where team members can work together in a creative environment.
